Nazi people and 3D

On 1930 Hitler and the Germany already know about 3D, amazing huh?

An Australian filmmaker has been stunned by the technological advances made by Nazi propagandists after uncovering treasure trove of 3D movies, Variety reported Tuesday.

Films shot using 3D technology in pre-war Nazi Germany were discovered in Berlin's Federal Archives.

The two black-and-white 30-minute propaganda films were shot in 1936 -- decades before 3D hit Hollywood in the 1950s.

Australian director Philippe Mora found the films when researching a documentary about how the Nazis used propaganda.

"They were made by an independent studio for Goebbels' propaganda ministry and referred to as 'raum film' -- or space film -- which may be why no one ever realized since that they were 3D," Mora told Variety.

"The quality of the films is fantastic. The Nazis were obsessed with recording everything and every single image was controlled -- it was all part of how they gained control of the country and its people."

One film is a musical called "So Real You Can Touch It" is set in a carnival and features 3D close-ups of sausages on a barbecue.

The other film called "Six Girls Roll Into Weekends" shows young German starlets.

Mora's previous documentary, Swastika, was released in 1973 and showed previously unseen color footage of Adolf Hitler and girlfriend Eva Braun at his retreat.

Did you know about Pseudo-Scymnus?

Pseudo-Scymnus is the name given by Augustus Meineke to the unknown author of a work on geography written in Classical GreekThe Circumnavigation of the Earth, an anonymous verse periegesis first published at Augsburg in 1600. It was originally ascribed to Marcianus of Heraclea, then to Scymnus of Chios, until this was disproven by Meineke (edition, 1846).
It is dedicated to a King Nicomedes, most likely Nicomedes IV of Bithynia, which would place its composition around 90 BC. A geographical summary in iambic verse, it has some worthwhile material on the coasts of SpainLiguria, the Euxine (Black Sea), data on various Greek colonies, as well as information about the ancient UmbriansCelts,Liburnians, and other peoples.

Italian Food

Italian cuisine has developed through centuries of social and political changes, with roots as far back as the 4th century BC. Italian cuisine in itself takes heavy influences, including Etruscanancient Greekancient RomanByzantineJewish and Arab cuisines.[1] Significant changes occurred with the discovery of the New World with the introduction of items such as potatoes, tomatoesbell peppers and maize, now central to the cuisine but not introduced in quantity until the 18th century.[2][3] Italian cuisine is noted for its regional diversity,[4][5][6] abundance of difference in taste, and is known to be one of the most popular in the world,[7] with influences abroad.[8]
Ingredients and dishes vary by region. Many dishes that were once regional, however, have proliferated with variations throughout the country. Cheese and wine are a major part of the cuisine, with many variations and Denominazione di origine controllata(DOC) (regulated appellation) laws. Coffee, specifically espresso, has become important in Italian cuisine.

Something about Kant - Good stuff on Wikipedia

Immanuel Kant (German pronunciation: [ɪˈmaːnu̯eːl ˈkant]) (22 April 1724 – 12 February 1804) was an 18th-century Germanphilosopher and geographer from the Prussian city of Königsberg. He was the last influential philosopher of the classic period of the theory of knowledge (corresponding to the Enlightenment nurtured by thinkers John LockeGottfried LeibnizGeorge Berkeley, and David Hume).[1]
One of his most prominent works is the Critique of Pure Reason, an investigation into the structure of reason. It suggests that traditional metaphysics can be reformed through epistemology,[2] as we can face metaphysical problems fruitfully by understanding the sources and limits of knowledge. His other main works are the Critique of Practical Reason, which concentrates on ethics, and the Critique of Judgment, which investigates aesthetics and teleology.
Kant published important works on science, religion, law, and history, believing himself to be creating a compromise betweenempiricism and rationalism. The former asserted that everything is acquired through experience whereas the latter maintained that reason plays a major role. Kant argues that experience, values and the meaning of life will be purely subjective without first being subsumed under pure reason, while using reason without applying it to experience will only lead to theoretical illusions.
Kant’s thought was very influential in Germany during his lifetime, moving philosophy beyond the debate between the rationalists and empiricists. The philosophers FichteSchellingHegel and Schopenhauer each saw themselves as correcting and expanding the Kantian system, thus bringing about various forms of German idealism. Nowadays, Kant remains a major influence on bothanalytic and continental philosophy.
